  • Human DNA with whole genome sequenced?

Hi, I'm wondering if there's any publicly available human DNA with whole genome sequenced and released? I'm doing some capture sequencing, I guess I need some standard samples to see if I can discover all the variants in my target region, the false positive and false negative rate.
    Thanks!

The HapMap DNAs are available. They've been genotyped for 1.5 million SNPs

email Craig Venter or James Watson for some?

Thanks for the replies. Most of the hapmap samples were only genotyped for the common SNPs, not sequenced. It may be easier to sequence my own whole genome than to get Venter or Watson's DNA.

Actually I think I found the answer, Illumina sequenced the whole genome of an African sample and released the data, the sample is also a Hapmap sample that can be bought from Coriell.

U87MG was sequenced on SOLiD, and a very common cell line.

Craig Venter's DNA is available from the Coriell Institute.

What about any of the high coverage 1000 genomes samples, NA12878 or NA19240 for example

I used to post it in another thread:

                ftp://ftp.sanger.ac.uk/pub/rd/humanSequences/

These data are processed in the same way.

                  by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

                  by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
