We just unpacked ours. Seems it is a thermalcycler based instrument, so no gas is needed to drive fluids. What's nice is now the sequencer and the thermalcycler are completely separate now. The v2 can be put essentially anywhere in the building, unlike the v1.

I kind of liken this to being just like sanger days where you can have a lot of thermalcyclers and very few sequencers. How that works out in practice has yet to be seen at our facility.

I don't know how the chef will fit into the scheme, but if an ES module is all you need to enrich then I can have users just show up with unenriched beads and take it from there. Quality control could be just the qubit step.

Do you have any updates on this system?
      Is it cost effective?

      Thanks.

No experience yet as we are getting through our old kits first. The v2 will start being used once the 400 kits are available.

We had so many problems with the first version..When we switched to 2nd version our libraries got soooo much better that I can't imagine my life before OT2...
