  • Frozen flow cell

Has anyone ever used a flow cell that has been frozen. We had a mishap with our refrigerator and my flow cells all froze!
Tech-support advised against using them but I was wondering if anyone has and what the outcome was.

I haven't tried it, but I was told that the flowcells will delaminate if they're frozen, or even put on ice.

Let us know how it goes if you do try!

Our lab has the experience....>_<. We test run a Miseq flow cell that has been frozen for 3 weeks in its original buffer. We test run the 150 cycles reagent on it and it turns out to be fine in both cluster density and quality.

We had accidentally frozen incorporation buffer and a nano flow cell for two weeks. Thawed both in water at room temperature and successfully sequenced with a 300 cycle kit.

              Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
              by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
