  • UltraClean PCR purification kits

We are having continuing issues with background bacterial sequence contamination in our MiSeq sequencing data that we think we have tracked to the min-elute columns we use to purify and concentrate our dsDNA products prior to library prep. We wanted to try a Mo Bio UltraClean PCR clean-up product - Qiagen now has Mo Bio product but only supplies the PCR clean-up in a 96-well format and we need individual columns.
Does anyone know of an alternative source or substitution for these "clean" purification columns?
    Thanks!

PCR cleanup should be comparatively "easy" and all the usual manufacturers should have good options.
Qiagen QIAquick PCR or Zymo DNA clean would be some we have used.

How about using bead-based cleanup and just skipping the columns entirely? I have heard of people having trouble with contamination of their PCR-grade water when they have samples with very low levels of template DNA.

        Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
        by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
