Generally both gives similar results down to 2ng miRNA input (fraction of miRNA in total RNA) with a similar workflow but NEB kit costs less. -
Bioo Scientific also offers a similar kit which uses adapters with randomized ends to reduce ligase bias. The issue of ligase bias is pretty well known in the small RNA library prep field, feel free to PM me for more information. I was hesitant to post here because I don't want it to look like a sales pitch, but I truly believe the use of randomized adapters is the way to go with small RNA library prep.
