    Phaseolus vulgaris genome

    Hi guys,

I need to find a list with all genes beans and respective functions . Anyone could suggest me any site to take this list?

I have used the phytozome site, but but it provides a gene and its function at a time.

    get this file : ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/DATA/gene_info.gz

example fetch from command line: wget ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/DATA/gene_info.gz

    ungzip (decompress) this file.

Your "French Bean" genes begin with taxonomy id "3885".

Example to get extract your genes : grep "^3885" gene_info

Look at the first line of "gene_info" for figuring out what the fields on a line are.

Most of these genes are "hyopthetical proteins" and determing their possible functions is another dimenson of diffuculty.

      Thanks Richard,
but I have a doubt about the file.
This file contains Phaseolus vulgaris' gene ? Because the names of the genes I have are different .
