Why Ion Torrent use the Taqman qPCR for sequencing lib quantification

Hi All,

To be honest, I really do not understand why Ion torrent use the Taqman for library quantification (ION LIBRARY TAQMAN™ QUANTITATION KIT). I asked several people and a FAS, they had no idea. The point is how they design a probe for the assay? I tried to find a manual but failed. Can anybody explain it to me?. Thanks.

IIRC the probe binds within the P1 adapter, that's why the kit is not compatible with the use of fusion primers with truncated P1.
