A recent study published in Veterinary Clinical Pathology by Chu, C. P., & Nabity, M. B., provided a comprehensive assessment of the optimal miRNA isolation and library preparation methods for small RNA‐seq research using canine biofluids. For library prep analysis, they compared the NEXTFLEX® Small RNA-seq kit v3 and the Illumina® TruSeq® Small RNA-seq kit. The authors concluded that the NEXTFLEX® Small RNA-seq kit v3 is the optimal library preparation method for detection of potential biomarkers in canine serum and urine.

CRISPR/Cas9 sparked the gene editing revolution for both research and therapeutics.1 But this system still showed severe issues that limited its applications. The most prominent were the heavy reliance on PAM sequences, delivery limitations, double-stranded breaks that prompt unintended edits and cell death, and editing inefficiency (both in targeting and in knock-in reliability).
Despite this, “CRISPR helped turn genome editing from a specialized technique into...-
