Alternative to Qiagen Puregene Tissue kit for HMW gDNA?

    Hello,

We're extracting high molecular weight gDNA for PacBio from an insect-a bee- using the Qiagen Puregene Tissue kit (4g). We have trouble with this kit back-ordered all the time. Could someone from the community recommend an alternative for HMW gDNA that works well on tissue for PacBio?

    Thanks,

    Dacotah

I have tried the following protocol with insects and it works quite well in terms of purity and length:

Modified low‐salt CTAB extraction of high‐quality DNA from contaminant‐rich tissues

A benchtop protocol is available in the "Supporting Information" section.

      Hi Dacotah,

Qiagen's PureGene kits are nearly identical to the former Epicentre MasterPue DNA Purification kits, which are now available through Lucigen/Biosearch Technologies. Catalog numbers would be MC85200 for 200 reactions and MC89010 for 10 reactions. Both are non-column based products.

Beyond CRISPR/Cas9: Understand, Choose, and Use the Right Genome Editing Tool
          by SEQadmin2

CRISPR/Cas9 sparked the gene editing revolution for both research and therapeutics.1 But this system still showed severe issues that limited its applications. The most prominent were the heavy reliance on PAM sequences, delivery limitations, double-stranded breaks that prompt unintended edits and cell death, and editing inefficiency (both in targeting and in knock-in reliability).

Despite this, “CRISPR helped turn genome editing from a specialized technique into

          by SEQadmin2

Proteomics platforms are evolving rapidly, with advances in mass spectrometry and affinity-based approaches expanding what researchers can detect and at what scale. As the field moves toward deeper proteome coverage and clinical applications, scientists face an increasingly complex landscape of tools. This article will explore how researchers are navigating these choices to find the right platform for their work.

The systematic characterization of the human proteome has
