Are there any significant issues with using standard plastic falcon tubes for DNA extraction with chloroform? How long can chloroform be in contact with polypropylene for it to have a negative impact on DNA extractions?

I have done a few large volume CTAB-Chloroform DNA extractions in polypropylene without any noticeable issues with the nucleic acids. I was told by someone with experience in a forensics lab that long-term storage of Chloroform in polypropylene will degrade the PP and may therefore result in complications. I think that you are generally fine storing chloroform in PP for a day or maybe two. -
