can I use standard plastic falcon tubes for chloroform DNA extraction?

Are there any significant issues with using standard plastic falcon tubes for DNA extraction with chloroform? How long can chloroform be in contact with polypropylene for it to have a negative impact on DNA extractions?

I have done a few large volume CTAB-Chloroform DNA extractions in polypropylene without any noticeable issues with the nucleic acids. I was told by someone with experience in a forensics lab that long-term storage of Chloroform in polypropylene will degrade the PP and may therefore result in complications. I think that you are generally fine storing chloroform in PP for a day or maybe two.

Thanks - I was hoping that was the case. It'd probably be no more than an hour.
