This looks great. However, your software is only available for Mac and Windows users. Can you make the source available to us Linux users?

      Thank you for using SAMMate!

We are planning to make the software available to Linux users, but the release date has not been decided yet. Once the Linux version is ready, I will let you know.

            Hi Balat and Bioinfo,

I am sorry for this bug on Win XP machine!
We met this kind of problem on Win XP machine before and it was caused by some .dll files missing on Win XP OS. But these .dll files are included in Win vista and 7 by default, so SAMMate does not have such problem on Win Vista and 7.

I will try to fix this problem soon and let you know.
            Thank you for using SAMMate!

              DLLs

              Hello Xuguorong,

This programs looks very useful and we would love to have Linux version but in the meantime, could you point us to a location for the missing DLLs and where to install them while you work on a fix?

                Hi Jack,

I am sorry for late response!

We have released SAMMate 2.4.1 and we have fixed some bugs including the WinXP problem. Now, you can download SAMMate for WinXP from

We are planning to probably release Linux version in SAMMate 2.5.

If you have any problem, please let me know.
                Thanks for using SAMMate!

Nine Things a Sample Prep Scientist Thinks About Before Sequencing
                  by SEQadmin2

I’m not a sequencing expert. I’m a purification scientist who uses NGS to evaluate workflows my group develops. With this perspective, we think about the sample first and the NGS workflow second. The sequencer is an exceptionally honest reporter, but it can only report on what you give it, so whether you get clean, interpretable data from an NGS workflow is largely determined before you begin.

Here are nine questions we think about, in roughly the order they matter, before...

From Collection to Sequencing: Why Sample Preparation and Preservation Define Sequencing Data
                  by SEQadmin2

Data variability is still an issue in sequencing technologies despite the advances in reproducibility and accuracy of these platforms. But the problem does not originate in the sequencing itself, but in the previous steps, before the sample reaches the sequencer.

The first step is collection, followed by preservation and sample preparation for analysis. Most scientists overlook those steps, but not being careful might just be skewing the experiment’s results.
