    Flow cell modifications ?

    Hello,
    Does anybody knows if there were some changes in the lengths and / or sequences of the primers attached to the Hiseq flow cells between version V.1 (ref : 15011379) and V1.5 (ref: 15020980) ?

    The lane width of version V.1 is 1.7mm, v1.5 is 1.8mm, but the valid width is the same.

      It's my understanding that the manufacturing process was modified to improve clustering (more consistent primer coating, and elimination of edge effects) but that the primer sequences are unchanged.

        Love this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.
