    Server Upgrade. <fingers crossed>

    Hey all,

Due to the wiki-publication team really pushing our current server resources, I'm in the process of upgrading/migrating the server. So please bear with any hiccups over the next day or two.

On the plus side, you shouldn't see any 500 errors anymore from the wiki.

I don't see the 500 error anymore. But the response of the server is slow recently, particularly in the wiki page

I have seen some 503 errors of recent. Is this because of limits on traffic/usage?

Thanks for providing a great forum!

So you may have noticed the site has been slow as of late...so I'm moving it to a dedicated server as we speak (no more shared host!). This should not only double our RAM but remove any virtualization and database overhead from the shared system.

If the site goes down or has DNS issues over the next day or two, please bear with us. =]

We're on the new host now...please report problems if/when you see them! Thanks!

Seems significantly faster from where I am, and from all the tests I can run on it. True test will be tomorrow as today is a holiday in the US.

Looking good so far. Sometime you become a victim of your own success, right?

Let us see how long before you need a second server for better load balancing :-)

I'm just about maxed out at the current host. As far as vbulletin boards go, we're still tiny and should be served by a single server pretty well....but yes, the next steps are a load balancer and multiple web/db servers.

It's those darn enthusiastic semantic-wiki guys that need all the memory!

Proteomic Platforms: How to Choose the Right Analytical Strategy to Improve Detection and Clinical Applications
                      by SEQadmin2

Proteomics platforms are evolving rapidly, with advances in mass spectrometry and affinity-based approaches expanding what researchers can detect and at what scale. As the field moves toward deeper proteome coverage and clinical applications, scientists face an increasingly complex landscape of tools. This article will explore how researchers are navigating these choices to find the right platform for their work.

The systematic characterization of the human proteome has

Advanced Sequencing Platforms Tackle Neuroscience’s Toughest Genomics Problems
                      by SEQadmin2

Genomics studies in neuroscience face a special challenge due to the brain’s complexity and scarcity of samples. Mapping changes in cell type and state using conventional next-generation sequencing methods remains challenging. Advances in technologies like single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and long-read sequencing have opened the door to deeper studies of the brain and diseases like Alzheimer’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and schizophrenia.

Cancer Drug Resistance: The Lingering Barrier to Rising Survival
                      by SEQadmin2

Cancer survival rates have significantly increased in the last few decades in the United States, reaching a combined 70% 5-year survival rate by 2021. Behind this number, there are years of research to find new therapies, drug targets, and early detection methods. But there is one core challenge that keeps slowing down these advances, and it’s about drug resistance.

There is no single reason why many patients don’t respond to treatment as expected. Cancer is...
