Encore NGS Library Systems for Ion Torrent from NuGEN Technologies

We are pleased to announce release of The Encore™ NGS Library Systems for Ion Torrent™ . Our latest library construction product provides simple, fast, and scalable solutions for producing DNA libraries used in a wide range of sequencing applications with the Ion Personal Genome Machine™ (PGM™).

    Streamlined Workflow
The Encore™ NGS Library Systems for Ion Torrent (Part Nos. 0306, 0307 and 0308) provide a streamlined workflow for NGS library construction from a minimum of 100 ng of fragmented double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) that can be completed in as little as four hours, with only two purification steps.

Library size selection is performed with a double bead-cut method, thereby eliminating the need to purchase costly specialty equipment for size selection.

    Reduced Sequencing Costs
Kit configurations supporting both multiplexed and non-multiplexed sequencing applications are available. Each multiplex kit provides up to a 16-plex capability, for an affordable and scalable solution.

    Application Flexibility
Sequencing libraries can be created for RNA-Seq, Digital Gene Expression (DGE), genomic DNA/exome sequencing, amplicon sequencing, ChIP-Seq and more.

The Encore NGS Library Systems for Ion Torrent afford rapid and efficient library construction from DNA, as well as seamless integration with both the Ovation® RNA-Seq System V2 and Ovation RNA-Seq FFPE System, to enable a complete end-to-end solution for transcriptome library construction.

    Hi Steve,

Your post is from sept 2011, so I hope you are still connected to seqanswers.

i would like to perform strand-oriented RNA libraries for sequencing on Ion Torrent. I see that Nugen does not provide this kit. Is it possible to get a support from Nugen to design adapters that would allow us to sequence on Ion Torrent, using the Ovation Universal RNA-seq kit?

Thank you very much in advance for your help,

Advanced Sequencing Platforms Tackle Neuroscience’s Toughest Genomics Problems
      by SEQadmin2

Genomics studies in neuroscience face a special challenge due to the brain’s complexity and scarcity of samples. Mapping changes in cell type and state using conventional next-generation sequencing methods remains challenging. Advances in technologies like single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and long-read sequencing have opened the door to deeper studies of the brain and diseases like Alzheimer’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and schizophrenia.

Cancer Drug Resistance: The Lingering Barrier to Rising Survival
      by SEQadmin2

Cancer survival rates have significantly increased in the last few decades in the United States, reaching a combined 70% 5-year survival rate by 2021. Behind this number, there are years of research to find new therapies, drug targets, and early detection methods. But there is one core challenge that keeps slowing down these advances, and it’s about drug resistance.

There is no single reason why many patients don’t respond to treatment as expected. Cancer is...

Reply to Nine Things a Sample Prep Scientist Thinks About Before Sequencing

Love this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.
