    Water for IonTorrent

    Hi all,

    We've just taken delivery of our PGM, but now we realise than it requires fresh 18mOhm water - our water supply is only rated to 15mOhm - does anyone have any experience with running their PGM at a slightly lower than recommended water purity...?

    Our water is usually above 18 mOhm, but during training it ran around 17.5 (the filters were due to be changed). This caused issues with the pH step. They have changed the chemistry which may have negated this, but I highly doubt it.

      Ah - many thanks - I don't think we'll risk it if a drop to 17.5 was significant...

        We were really surprised that it affected it that much. It might not as much now, but I wouldn't try it.
