  • Announcing iPathwayGuide - Advanced Pathway Analysis

Hi. My name is Andrew. I work for a company, Advaita Bioinformatics, that has some grants to develop advanced systems biology tools.

I wanted to let you all know of a new web application (no command line required) for pathway analysis. iPathwayGuide is different from other applications for a number of reasons, but the most important one is that it takes the topology (how the genes are connected) into consideration and calculates total system perturbation.

The application has the following key elements:

    • Dashboard
    • Gene analysis
    • Biological Processes
    • Molecular Functions
    • Cellular Components
    • Pathway Analysis
    • Mechanism Prediction
    • Drug Interactions
    • Disease Analysis

Currently this is a FREE application. Please help us make this a great application for all users. Below are some sample screenshots. Just click on one and register for an account and receive a demo data set. Tell me what you think. We want to hear form you.

    Summary:

    Gene analysis:

    GO analysis:

    Pathway analysis (summary):

    Pathway analysis (details):

    Disease analysis:

Sounds interesting, but unfortunately I can't register/login via the "Get IPathwayGuide" or "login" buttons

    HTTP ERROR 404

    Problem accessing /oauth-provider/WEB-INF/jsp/login.jsp. Reason:

It's back up. Sorry for that. Part of the growing pains...

Ok, the links work now, registration too, but I can't login

The username or password you entered are incorect.
of course, I triple checked that they are correct. Resetting the password and entering the newly generated I got per mail also doesn't work.

It would also help if a link for the site was included in the original post. Clicking on one of the images seems to get you there but that is not obvious.

Also be ready for "SeqAnswers" effect (i.e. many trying to sign-up)

Did you receive an email with a link for activation?

Yes. And if I click "Activate account" in it again, the site tells me "This account has already been activated." The login, however, still doesn't work...

                  Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
                  by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

                  Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
                  by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
