EdgeBio Delivers End-to-End Next Gen Sequencing with CLC bio
At the inaugural Beyond Sequencing conference in San Francisco, EdgeBio introduced their Science as a Service concept built on top of CLC bio’s enterprise platform, CLC Genomics Server. EdgeBio’s end-to-end service concept leads each scientist and project from conception and project design through bioinformatics and analysis.
“In building out an integrated next generation analysis infrastructure, it was imperative that we leveraged multi-faceted, commercial grade software with the ability to integrate open source tools and proprietary internal algorithms. CLC Bio provides a flexible and scalable enterprise platform which allows us to focus our efforts on providing scientific service to EdgeBio's customers” said Director of Bioinformatics at EdgeBio, Justin H. Johnson. He continues “EdgeBio's dynamic range of services across many applications are built on top of CLC bio's enterprise infrastructure, which allows us to provide new client-specific pipelines quickly and focus on the actual research as opposed to spending vital resources keeping a wide range of IT and bioinformatics systems online.”
Director of North American Consulting Services, Dr. Saul A. Kravitz, continues, "We view EdgeBio's versatile and scalable concept as the prototype of future sequencing service providers, and teaming up with an end-to-end sequencing service provider like EdgeBio - as well as delivering customized solutions on top of our enterprise platform - effectively drives both of our companies to deliver better products and solutions, to the benefit of all involved."
EdgeBio's Science as a Service concept includes everything from experiment and project design, to sample preparation, library construction, amplification and sequencing, bioinformatics, and reporting. This approach effectively leverages customers with one single gateway to all their Next Generation Sequencing needs.
