It looks like a nice tool but what I need and I'm sure a lot of other people need is a library of publicly available tracks like what the UCSC browser has but even more extensive.

Now if someone could make a desktop browser and combine that with a library of tracks from publicly available data in a compatible format with the browser, that would be really useful.

      Hi ETHANol,

Thanks for the message. We're making Savant do very much what you are proposing -- we're developing plugins that enable access to various popular data stores, including UCSC. For example, our UCSC plugin allows you to open virtually all tracks that are available in the UCSC table browser. I'll give a demonstration of the UCSC plugin on Thursday. We also have a 1000 Genomes Plugin, which enables browsing of their alignment files.

If you have any more suggestions for database support, we're happy to hear them.

      Best,
      Marc

          Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
          by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
