Hi folks,
we've just launched a range of new RESTful web services for retrieving and analysing data from the GeneProf databases (http://www.geneprof.org). GeneProf is a web-based tool for the analysis of RNA-seq and ChIP-seq data and is coupled with a database of ready-analysed datasets. Using the web services it is possible to programmatically dig into these data and retrieve sequences, genomic data, information about gene expression and regulation and the like.
The web services are all described under:
http://www.geneprof.org/GeneProf/webapi.jsp
I've put up a whole lot of examples including use-cases in Perl, Java, Taverna, Galaxy and the UCSC and IGV genome browsers.
We're really keen to get some feedback on the web services (bug reports, suggestions, ideas!) and would love to post up some user-submitted examples, too!
Thanks,
-Florian
