  • New! Ovation WGA FFPE and RNA-Seq FFPE workflow solutions from NuGEN Technologies

With the Ovation RNA-Seq FFPE System you receive more transcriptome representation from FFPE total RNA as well as experience a single workflow for leading NGS platforms, while the Ovation WGA FFPE System offers flexible downstream analyses from FFPE samples by aCGH or NGS with superior technical performance suited to a range of DNA applications. The workflow from each of these new kits integrates with NuGEN’s Encore NGS Library Systems for the Illumina platforms.

    Ovation RNA-Seq FFPE System:
    • Obtain RNA-Seq data from mRNA and non-polyadenylated transcripts without the added steps of poly(A) selection or rRNA depletion.
    • cDNA can be used for library construction with the Encore NGS Library Systems, or other library construction methods for leading NGS platforms.

    Ovation WGA FFPE System:
    • Generate µg amounts of amplified DNA from genomic DNA isolated from FFPE samples
    • High reproducibility , low error rates, no coverage bias and minimal chimeras

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
    by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist on Modified Bases...

    Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
    by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
