Heh! Awesome! Well, I'll be there presenting a poster on some of my work - the part that doesn't relate to FindPeaks. I'll also be trying to blog the talks I attend. If anyone from SeqAnswers also wants to meet up, that could be cool. The more you know, the more you know you don't know. —Aristotle

That's true. Maybe ECO should just put up a SEQAnswers poster somewhere for all of us to congregate around.
Oh well - how about this, if people are interested, they should let me know: either find me at my poster, send me an email or leave a message here. If a couple of people come forward, I'll try to arrange something. The more you know, the more you know you don't know. —Aristotle

Thanks (=
I'm glad they're useful. It makes my sore wrists feel better, knowing that someone is getting some out of them. I'll get around to making a page with an index of all the talks - but probably not 'till the weekend. The more you know, the more you know you don't know. —Aristotle

Ok, after some playing around, I figured out how to make a single collection of my AGBT 2009 notes. Here you go:

by GATTACATLove this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.

I’m not a sequencing expert. I’m a purification scientist who uses NGS to evaluate workflows my group develops. With this perspective, we think about the sample first and the NGS workflow second. The sequencer is an exceptionally honest reporter, but it can only report on what you give it, so whether you get clean, interpretable data from an NGS workflow is largely determined before you begin.
Here are nine questions we think about, in roughly the order they matter, before...-
