    Basic Coverage Calculation Questions

    For the sequencing technologies ABI 3730, 454, Illumina, and PacBio, what would the number of reads be to ensure 99.995% coverage of the human genome under this model.
    From there for each technology, how would I also estimate the total cost of this sequencing?

    Please help. what i have so far is below:

    L= read lengths
    ABI = 800,454: 700
    Illumina= 300
    PacBio= 500
    N= # of bases sequenced = ?
    C= 10
    e=2.718
    = c= LN/G
    G= 3.2
    10=?/3.2b
    3.2bx10=32 reads necessary in order to ensure 99.9995% coverage of human genome.

    Thanks so much in advance!
