samtools calmd produce truncated bam file

hi,
does someone use samtools calmd to cap base quality as follows?

samtools calmd -Abr input.bam ucsc.hg19.fasta > output_baq.bam

i have tried different bam files and the output bam files are all truncated.

the samtools version is 0.1.18.

does someone encounter the same problem?
