Shouldn't need a student edition...the whole thing is available here for free:
    ftp://ftp.tigr.org/pub/software/AMOS

        Oops, sorry :-(

I didn't check it before I pasted. Apologies for that. Are you looking for the whole thing, or just specific components? It does look like an interesting workflow for certain projects.

Are you referring to AMOS 7.0 once upon a time available from SPSS (now from IBM) http://www-03.ibm.com/software/products/en/spss-amos or something else?

Yeah, the genomics software seems to stop at v3.1.0:
Download AMOS for free. AMOS is a collection of tools for genome assembly. AMOS is a collection of tools and class interfaces for the assembly of DNA reads. The package includes a robust infrastructure, modular assembly pipelines, and tools for overlapping, consensus generation, contigging, and assembly manipulation.

I refer the one which IBM is selling now. But IBM does not give a free student version (as far as I know). So, I am trying to find the older one which was free for students. (Versions 7.0 and below).

That is going to be tricky. It appears that the last time it was available was in 2010/2011 time frame. There are sites that purport to have AMOS download available but you should be wary of downloading from a non-official source.

Perhaps you can use the trial download: http://www14.software.ibm.com/downlo...A25118V85.html

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
