My name is Vanessa Williams and I'm currently working at the Computational Biology Lab at the University of Toronto as a Software Engineer. At the moment I'm working on visualization tools for high-throughput sequencing data. I also have some (unofficial?) association with The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG.)
I have 20 years experience as a software engineer in many fields, including research and enterprise. I've decided to turn my efforts to bioinformatics and any other branches of computational biology that strike my fancy.
I also have an open source bioinformatics toolkit + programming library in the works (in Java), but it's too thin at the moment to announce! I'll let the appropriate forum know when there's enough there to be useful.
Thanks for your time. I look forward to the conversations here.
