Postdoctoral position: bioinformatics applied to heart disease and development
Drs. Cappola and Morrisey of the Penn Cardiovascular Institute seek a post-doctoral fellow to conduct research using microarrays and next-generation sequencing data from human subjects with heart disease and murine models of heart disease and development. Ongoing projects include
1) Large-scale eQTL, RNAseq , and miRNAseq of human myocardium ( n = 1000 )
2) ChIPseq of human and murine heart
3) Related DNAseq studies in human populations.
Projects are accomplished in collaboration with Drs. Hongzhe Li and Mingyao Li (Center for Genetics of Complex Traits) and with Dr. Jonathan Schug (Bioinformatics and Next Gene Sequencing Core) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine
This position requires excellent programming skills and firm knowledge of Bioinformatics. Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing Data and knowledge of Plink, C, Perl, Python, R, SAMTOOLS, BWA, GATK, Bowtie, Tophat and related tools are required.
