  • Automate SMRCT Cells import in SMRT portal

    Hi all,
we have installed a PacBio RSII few month ago in our core facility, and SMRT poral is working fine (2.3.0). Now we would like to setup SMRT portal to automate SMRT Cells import and give the ownership to the right usergroup according to the path the data is imported from

Is there a way to achieve that? Anyone tried that?

    Thank you for your jelp

It will require some coding, but should be reasonably straightforward using the SMRT portal API https://github.com/PacificBioscience...ces-API-v2.3.0

@rhall: I thought it was possible for the instrument to push the data to the analysis server directly. Am I not remembering this right?

The kodos secondary analysis daemon https://github.com/PacificBioscience...-Auto-Analysis can be setup to poll the machine, import data and start jobs, but I don't think it can be setup to alter usergroups based on import path. Using the API gives you a lot more control.

          Thanks for your replies....
you are right, I knew this documentation, but it seems I didn't spend enough time reading it...I now find the useful web methods "Scan for New Input Metadata Function" and "Groups Function"

thank you, I will post the script upon completion

          Have a nice day

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
            by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

            Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
            by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
