Core Manager – Genome Sciences Facility

The Genome Sciences Facility at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, seeks faculty applicants for a Core Manager position. Qualifications include a PhD in a relevant field and in-depth experience in high content molecular biological analyses including qPCR, microarrays and next-generation sequencing. First-hand experience in performing and analyzing these experimental techniques in biomedical research is necessary. A focus of the position will be next-generation sequencing for genomic, epigenomic, and transcriptomic studies. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operation of the facility, the successful candidate will collaborating with a wide variety of biomedical researchers to aid in successful completion of their research projects.
There are University-wide efforts in genomics and personalized medicine, and opportunities for collaboration include research activities within various Penn State Institutes, such as the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, Cancer Institute, Heart and Vascular Institute, and Huck Institute of the Life Sciences.
