Chromosomes segregation for sequencing

Hi,

We would like to segregate chromosomes of a eukaryotic genome. For example, several institutes are sequencing different human chromosomes. How did they segregate only their target chromosomes? Should I do it before or after sequencing?

Depending on the organism, why you want to focus on a chromosome & such, either just sequencing the whole genome & focusing on your chromosome in the post informatics may be simpler OR you may want to use a capture method on the regions of interest.
