Default What is the ideal RNA-Seq (counting) platform?

With the HiSeq platforms (2500 and X), Illumina is dominating genome sequencing (WGS and exome). But for RNA-Seq, does the Proton have a chance? We lay out the case in our latest blog.

Well, the Heliscope never sold well, but Helicos didn't really focus on counting applications in the beginning. Perhaps if they had that platform would have found a niche that allowed it to survive. (But you can still use it as a service via SeqLL.com)
