Question Illumina's 48 TruSeq Indexes - how many and which really work?

How many and which of Illumina's 48 TruSeq indexes actually work properly?

Why do the 48 indexes only come with Illumina's small RNA kits and not its DNA kits?

Only 24 of the 48 are available for the DNA kits. Does this mean the second 24 indexes don't work at all?

If I need 48 barcodes for DNA-seq, can I use those from the small RNA kit?
