Default how much DNA is required after library preparation?

I am new to solaxa ChIP-seq. Our facility said they need about 100ng DNA as starting material for library preparation or providing 500ng library DNA to them for seq if I Make library myself. Is this amount of DNA necessary? I always can not get this much after 18 cycles of pcr. Can anyone give some suggetion? Thanks very much.
