  • Personalized trainings - NGS data analysis

You want to learn how to analyze your NGS data?

    Public workshops and eTrainings

We develop eTrainings and provide workshops for employee training in bioinformatics. Several times a year, we organize well-attended workshops on selected topics in next-generation sequencing data analysis. Test datasets are used for getting started in applying and developing bioinformatic tools.

Topics covered by our workshops include:
    • RNA-seq bioinformatics
    • Sequencing technolgies
    • Small RNA-seq data analysis
    • Genomic data visualization
    • Perl for bioinformatics
    • Programming in R

    Personalized workshops

Without doubt, public workshops are useful and provide tangible gain of knowledge for their attendees. Often, however, they are affected by one or more of the following problems:
    • the work groups are too big
    • the knowledge of the participants is very diverse
    • the learned methods and/or developed pipelines are too unspecific and cannot be transferred to the projects as intended
    • the learning curve is far too steep

A great alternative are personalized courses for training small groups of employees on topics with practical relevance. If you are new to NGS data analysis, our personalized courses are greatly beneficial: you decide what you want to learn and you decide how fast you want to learn it! We can use examples of your projects and, along the way, create pipelines that can be used after the training. If you cannot follow or need further information, get help on the spot.

Choose between pre-built working packages (available for genomic variant analysis, accurate quantification of transcriptome data, ChiPseq analysis and many more, see also list of workshop topics above) as a course foundation and specifiy additional topics of interest.

    Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
    by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

    Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
    by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
