  • SOLiD 4 run time

    Hi,

Does anyone know the run time and read length? I found many specs on the internet but those are missing so far (will keep looking).

    Cheers

Found: 50-100 bp read length, 10 day run time.

I had heard still 50 base reads for version 4. ~70 bases for version 4hq (to be released Q4 2010).

But v4 was to allow paired end reads, "SOLiD Gold" kit. Those would probably be 50 one end, 35 bases the other end. (Not to be confused with "mate pair" reads. In principle both methods could be combined...)

100 BP is for mate pair / paired ends perhaps?

          Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
          by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
