  • 2012 AGBT conference sold out

Just tried to register online at noon when registration opened and it appears to be sold out. How is this possible? Anyone else having issues?

I entered the site at 11:59 AM and there was no link. At 12:00 PM the link appeared and I registered. At 12:04 PM, I tried to register a second member of my lab and the link lead to a page saying the meeting was sold out. A few minutes later the main page and link were changed from Register to Wait List. So over a thousand people must have registered in the first four minutes. Doesn't really seem likely but who knows.

I tried to register less than 2 minutes past the hour and it was sold out. I was told that those on the waiting list will be notified (via email) of registration openings some time in mid-December once poster abstracts are accepted.

They may offer registrations without hotel accommodations so I would suggest booking a hotel reservation somewhere nearby just in case.

Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
