A COMPUTATIONAL EPIGENOMICIST is sought to develop an independent research program in the Division of Computational Genetics, Department of Genetics at Einstein.
We are seeking an investigator with experience in the analysis of microarray and massively-parallel sequencing data studying the epigenome in organisms from yeast to humans. The priority tasks include development of analytical pipelines to work within the environment of the database containing the large datasets, turning data into biologically-meaningful information.
The successful applicant will be a part of Einstein’s new Center for Epigenomics. This Center focuses on understanding how the normal epigenome becomes dysregulated in human diseases, with current programmatic emphases in Cancer, Neuroscience, Infectious Disease and Environmental Epigenomics. The investigators will work within a highly-collaborative environment, studying questions that range from basic science to translational applications.
Academic appointments will be in the Division of Computational Genetics within the Department of Genetics, with potential secondary appointment opportunities in other departments, including our new Department of Systems and Computational Biology. The Computational Epigenomicist position is tenure track. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. Generous start-up funding and protected time for research will be provided. Applicants should hold a PhD and/or MD degree.
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is located in a residential area minutes from Westchester County and a short commute to Manhattan.
Please refer to CE code when sending applications. A CV and names of three referees are required for all positions. Tenure track faculty positions also require a description of proposed research goals. Candidates should apply by email to: Dr. John M. Greally, Director, Center for Epigenomics, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jack & Pearl Resnick Campus, 1300 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx, New York 10461 at: [email protected]
