  • Minimus2 error at step 41

    Hello everyone,
    I used Minimus2 to combine 454 sequence data's newbler assembly and Illumina data's velvet assembly. I was not able to use Minimus2 to combine some set of velvet assembly files with newbler assembly files. Minimus stopped at step41 and job got killed.

    Error in the log file is as follows
    Command:/usr/local/bin/make-consensus -B -e 0.06 -b combined.bnk -w 15 failed:likely through abort() or coredump

    It would be really helpful if someone could suggest a fix for the problem.

    Regards
    Ketaki

      I too am getting the same sort of error;
      I have feeling its related to the length of your input contigs. I wonder if tweaking the overlap parameters will push it through...

        I have same issue.

        I try to lower the alignment error rate to 0.05 and it is running....

        -e <x> Set alignment error rate to <x>

          I have same issue too.With "-D CONSERR=0.07" it's ok now.

              Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
              by seqadmin

              The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist on Modified Bases...

              Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
              by seqadmin

              Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
