  • PostDoc - Immunogenetics: Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute @ FAU

Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute at Florida Atlantic university (HBOI-FAU) seeks candidates for a postdoctoral position in the immunogenetics of marine mammals based at the HBOI site in Ft. Pierce, FL. HBOI-FAU is partnering with a number of Biomedical Research Institutes in Florida to advance OMICs-based research in marine systems through synergistic research on model species (including humans) and non-model marine species. The CetOMICS initiative is using this collaborative model to investigate the health, fitness, behavior and ecology of whales and dolphins. Candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology and high throughput genetic screening and analysis, including standard cloning techniques, qPCR, and gene expression. Experience in protein biosynthesis and the mammalian immune system, and with whole genome assembly, genomic profiling and gene mapping is preferred.
