The Department of Biostatistics & Medical Informatics (BMI), Bioinformatics Resource Center (BRC), and Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seek applicants for the post of Bioinformatician. Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree, PhD preferred, in computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, or a closely related field. We are especially interested in individuals with expertise in the analysis of high throughput biological sequence data.
The successful hire will collaborate with UWCCC members and will provide data analysis and consultation for their research projects. This individual will be capable of working independently and possess the ability to effectively troubleshoot and develop custom scripts and workflows. The Bioinformatician will be housed in the BRC, which is part of the UW Biotechnology Center, and will be an academic staff member of the BMI Department and will be mentored by world-class faculty in the department.
