Hyperthreading and BLAST

Does anyone have opinions as to the performance increase of blast on hyperthreaded Intel processors? We're trying to decide whether or not to assign slots to the hyperthreaded cores on our MPI clusters. The general consensus seems to be to leave HT on and assign twice as many slots..

I think the performance increase is pretty good. We use all the threads on our (non MPI) servers for BLAST and get a decent speedup.
