  • Can't get Tablet to do ANYTHING... why?

So I couldn't get Tablet to open my file, so I simply assumed it was my file, but to doublecheck, I tried to open the sample ecoli file that is suggested for those who are new. I keep getting the following error:

Any ideas? I can't seem to find anything like this using my google-fu, and it doesn't help that the word "tablet" is not very unique when it comes to errors...

Do you have Java 7 for OS X? It is required for tablet.

Did you try saving the Ecoli file to a simple location like "Desktop" and try to open it?

That's an error related to your cache folder going wonky. Reset it using Tablet Preferences, or delete the entry for it in ./scri-bioinf/tablet.xml in your home folder. It's a known bug that I'm trying to get to the bottom of (because Tablet is supposed to reset the directory itself if it can't find it on startup).
