  • Other Nanopore-based platform out there?

Is anyone familiar with any other nanopore based machines that are being developed? Either in a start-up or academia? What are they called and how do they work? Thanks!

PacBio uses nanopores. Arguably, Illumina's patterned flowcells do as well.

@Brian: In both those cases there are wells (no pores in biological (protein) or chemical (graphene) sense). Zero mode waveguide (ZMV) for PacBio and plain "nanowells" in case of Illumina.

@Shaia_Suki_Wang: Here is a list of known commercialization of nanopore technology (which surprisingly has been around since mid-1990's).

@GenoMax thanks Do you have any idea which one of these are still around? I know Genia is now bought by Roche and they are developing the technology. Any others that look promising?

          Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
          by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
