    Dear all,

I do work on DNA methylation (RRBS) and RNA-seq data. At my department we have bioinformatics performing the analysis, but I need to interpret it myself.

Therefore I'm looking for good courses to learn about big data, RNA-seq analysis, DNA methylation analysis etc.
I would like to get some courses in how to get the most out of the data.
Like information about how I can align my DNA methylation data to previous ChiP-Seq data or find transcription factor motifs in their promoter regions via data from - http://software.broadinstitute.org/g...igdb/index.jsp

In general just courses that will make me a better scientist in the data analysis parts.

Also I found this course: http://bioinfotraining.bio.cam.ac.uk...bioinfo-figdes

Do any of you know similar courses just online?

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Best regards
    Emil Andersen

I've been learning a lot from the genomic data science courses on Coursera. A little knowledge of command line interface and Python is kind of required-- they go over some of the basics, but it's pretty cursory before they jump into more advanced material.

      Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
      by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

      Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
      by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
