Hi
I've read in both 454 and Illumina documentation that 20kb insert lengths are supported by the mate pair protocols. However all of the sequencing centres I've contacted offer a much lower maximum insert length. Has anyone nailed 20kb inserts? Can anyone offer this as a service? Thanks! Anar |

We have done it for 454 libraries, but it us not easy and a lot of work. So we only offer it when we are part if a collaboration, and prefer not to have it as a standard service...

I heard some one at CPHx was doing 25kb inserts on SOLiD, too, so it isn't impossible. Anyone doing something bigger?
