We have several bioinformatics positions opening. One is Bioinformatics Analyst to help our Genomic Services branch which offers next-generation sequencing and micro-array services.
The candidate will help to develop and utilize programs to collect, store, manage, analyze and report biological sequencing data. The candidate will work with scientists and technicians to identify needs, test 3rd-party software, and develop new applications. The position also requires a significant amount of client interaction, such as participation in client conference calls, custom data analysis, and educating clients about the data analysis and results.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors or Masters in computer science or Masters in Bioinformatics with knowledge of human genomics and molecular biology
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in Illumina and/or SOLiD sequencing data analyses, such as alignment, variant calling, de novo assembly, RNA-Seq, and ChIP-Seq, etc
• Familiar with various bioinformatics software/packages, such as SAMtools, GATK, Galaxy, SoftGenetics, CLCbio, TopHat, etc
• Proficient working in Linux/Unix
• Proficient in Perl and/or Python
• Experience in R
OPTIONAL
• Experience in databases and SQL query is a plus.
• Experience with informatics infrastructure such as Galaxy is a plus.
• Experience with web programming (such as PHP, JQuery, AJAX) is a plus
