Default Most significant discoveries using NGSTs

Hi everyone,
Although in their infancy, NGSTs are transforming biological research. I was hoping to hear the seqanswers community take on this question:

What are the biggest/most significant discoveries yielded by NGST thus far?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Not an exhaustive list, just what comes to mind

1) New unsequenced genomes

2) Ancient genomes (Neanderthal, Denisovan, etc)

3) That there is a lot more transcribed regions, non-coding RNAs, alternative splicing, etc than was previously known

4) Single-base resolution of Methylation

5) The rate of new mutations

Cancer genomics -- many new driver mutations, both point and fusion

Bacterial pan genomes -- size of some pan genomes

Vertebrate pan genomes -- all that was missed the first time through
