Default Lexogen has launched exceptionally strand-specific mRNA-Seq library prep kit

Lexogen, a Vienna-based transcriptomics and NGS company has launched a new SENSE mRNA-Seq stranded library prep kit. Exceptional strand-specificity (>99.9%) of the protocol enables the detection and quantification of more antisense transcripts than was possible before. Moreover, the SENSE kit is a complete solution designed to generate stranded, ready-to-sequence Illumina-compatible NGS libraries from total RNA samples within just 4 hours. With the optional SENSE barcode kit, up to 12 libraries can be multiplexed without any additional steps during library preparation.

The SENSE mRNA-Seq stranded library prep kit is available as 8 rxns and 24 rxns. The 12 index barcode kit is available as 8 rxns/barcode and 24 rxns/barcode.

You can find more information about the strand-specificity of the protocol in the SENSE Application Note and about its reproducibility in the SENSE Technical Note.

Lexogen offers 20% discount until December 1st 2012 for all seqanswers users.

For ordering information, please contact sales@lexogen.com.

Default The SENSE mRNA-Seq library prep kit has been upgraded

Today Lexogen released an upgraded version of the SENSE strand-specific mRNA-Seq library prep kit that now includes MagnosphereTM MS150/OligodT beads from JSR Life Sciences. These beads have performed with the highest sensitivity and specificity among all tested. The poly(A) selection step has become even faster and more efficient, reducing the number of PCR cycles needed for library amplification. Moreover, extra PCR reagents are provided for an additional qPCR to determine the optimal number of PCR cycles. Learn more at http://www.lexogen.com/sense.html

SENSE mRNA-Seq library prep is now sequencing platform independent. Lexogen has launched SENSE for Ion Torrent and SOLiD. Learn more at the SENSE webpage.

Hi,

I like the way the kit is designed.
I was wondering if there is any chance to make the kit work with bacterial RNA, so without the polyA tail constrain ?

Thank you very much,

Mikael.

We have upgraded SENSE mRNA-Seq Library Prep Kit for Illumina. The new version offers an easy, straightforward, and even more affordable library prep.

The implementation of magnetic bead-based purification, integrated external barcodes, and the simplicity of the protocol renders SENSE compatible with automation on all major liquid handlers.

An improved oligonucleotide design, enhancing randomness in SENSE mRNA-Seq V2, supports now sequencing on all Illumina platforms.

Increase your daily sample throughput and benefit from Lexogen's proprietary fragmentation-free library prep technology, generating ready-to-sequence libraries in under 5 hours with an exceptional strand-specificity of >99.9%.

Does this system work for whole transcriptome analysis or just mRNA Seq? What about for small RNAs/microRNAs?

Dear Nighthawkrao77,
We have two distinct kits for different applications: the SENSE mRNA-Seq library kit which uses poly(A) selection, and the SENSE Total RNA-Seq kit which needs rRNA-depleted RNA as input.
Although we do not have a dedicated kit for micro RNAs and small RNAs, the SENSE Total RNA-Seq kit detects those to some extent.
For further questions please do not hesitate contacting us at:info@lexogen.com.
