  • Illumina fluorophore excitation/emission spectra

    Hi all,

I cannot seem to find what fluorophores exactly Illumina uses to label dNTPs and/or what their excitation/emission spectra are. I'd appreciate any help.

    Thanks,
    Igor.

Have you asked their technical support?

Were you able to find out Illumina fluorophore's excitation and emission wavelengths?

why are you looking for this? i'm sure their tech support can help. keep in mind there's not a lot of options given the limited visible spectral space available.

The odds that they tell you anything other than Em/Ex maxima are slim to none. They are likely proprietary dyes...

Here's a good starting patent for Illumina, which points tooooo

This one which talks about the dyes themselves, I think.

The description of that patent says, among other things:
Particular excitation wavelengths are 532 nm, 630 nm to 700 run, particularly 660 nm.
Lots more info as well. Good sleepy time reading.

              Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
              by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

              Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
              by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
