Not assigned vs. No hits in MEGAN

Hello experts,

I am trying to figure out a difference between reads classified as "Not assigned" and "No hits" in MEGAN tool. For me, they look like same in that reads are not assigned so there are no hits. Does anyone give me some explanation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MEGAN has a threshold for the bitscore of hits, any hit that has a bitscore below this threshold is not used to assign a taxonomy. Thus, a read can have a hit and still not have an assigned taxonomy and is thus called "not assigned".
