  • Bioinformatics position available at Duke University

    A research associate position is available immediately at Duke University’s Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy (IGSP) and the Division of Oncology. Our well-funded laboratory is focused on the role of genetic and epigenetic alterations in human leukemias and lymphomas. Our recent work has focused on next generation sequencing of hundreds of human tumors.

    The candidate will focus on the maintenance and continued development of our methods for analyzing high throughput sequencing and expression data in individual patient tumors. The successful applicant will be an integral member of a team involved in genetic analysis of cancers and would help develop and maintain tools for data analysis for identifying the root causes of cancer.

    Qualifications: BS or MS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics (or similar) with experience with Linux, PERL and MYSQL. The ideal candidate must have excellent programming skills, communication and problem solving skills, and must be capable of working with a team as well as independently.
